Hi folks;
Welcome to the Bar 15 Simmentals home page! Please take a look at the sale page and history of Bar 15 Simmentals to follow.
We are still operating on our land base southeast of Pincher Creek, Alberta, in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. Quentin has made several trips to Japan in the last couple of years accompanying horses that are flown there by cargo plane. He really enjoys this and has spent many days looking around Japan, after his flight is done. This September he climbed Mt. Fuji while he was there.
Anne has been working full time for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (a national land trust organization) for the past year as Conservation Coordinator for the Waterton Park Front project; which is a 30,000 acre block of land that surrounds the Waterton Lakes National Park. Anne was filling in for a maternity leave for one year, and has been asked to stay on part time as Stewardship Coordinator for SW Alberta. This is very interesting work that makes use of Anne’s degree in Biology; and also entails a lot of work with ranchers and leaseholders on Nature Conservancy land, blending conservation and working landscapes in the form of ranching.
Anne still has time for her own herd of 22 Red Purebred Simmental cows; and Quentin still enjoys having custom cattle in for the summer grazing months. Still lots of travels in their plans, and more house renovations and yard work.
This year Anne has three bulls for sale, and they are consigned to the Round-Up Sale in High River, December 17, 2009. This is a Transcon managed sale and will have an excellent offering of Fullblood and Purebred Simmental females and bulls. Check out these three bulls on the sale page.
Happy Trails.
